Amalgamated hromadas of the Cherkasy Oblast have signed another cooperation agreement, which in the long run will enable more than 10 thousand residents of 12 settlements of the Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi Rayon to count on prompt and efficient services of local fire brigade.

“The Selyshchanska AH, hromadas of the villages of Zarichchya, Mykolayivka, Sklymentsi and urban-type settlement of Khlerivka of the Zarichchya village council, will provide capital transfers (subventions) to the budget of the Steblivska AH in the framework of the concluded Agreement on cooperation of hromadas in the form of implementation of the joint project of "Purchase of a fire truck tank for the needs of the local fire brigade of the Stebliv settlement council," said Serhiy Sasin, head of the department for socio-economic development of the Stebliv settlement council. “We hope that such cooperation, with the financial support of the State Fund for Regional Development, will enable us by the end of this year to substantially update the material and technical base of the fire department of communal ownership, radically improve the level of fire safety of neighbouring hromadas and the quality of provision services to the residents.”

According to Hryhoriy Pererva, regional development adviser of the Cherkasy Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion, the emergence of new agreements for intermunicipal cooperation was made possible due to the cycle of "Workshops of Cooperation of Hromadas in the Cherkasy Oblast", held for the hromadas of the region. They were jointly organised in course of several months by the Cherkasy Local Government Development Centre and Cherkasy Regional Development Agency, with the assistance of the Regional Development Department of the Cherkasy Oblast State Administration. In addition, the participants received certificates from the Oblast Centre for retraining and advanced training of personnel.
