European integration at local level

Local governance will play an important role in Ukraine's EU accession, while almost 80% of EU policies are implemented locally.

The steadiness of Ukraine's position in negotiations and the conditions on which our state will join the European Union will largely depend on whether local governance is aware of and included in the integration process.

The ability of municipalities and regions to develop local policies in areas which are of priority for the EU, work with data and implement projects will contribute to the attraction of European investments in the recovery and development of our state.

Cooperation with European communities and regions has already ceased to be a matter of foreign policy. It has transformed into daily work - studying and transferring of experiences, building partnerships and practical implementation of policies, to achieve European standards of living in Ukraine.
