The Cherkasy Oblast, having six registered agreements on cooperation of hromadas, ranks eighth among other oblasts, according to MinRegion.
The practice of such cooperation allows hromadas to not only test their willingness to amalgamate, but also save money and improve the quality of services. Another advantage is the priority of funding at the expense of the State Fund for Regional Development. There is a successful example of project financing from the SFRD on the basis of the cooperation agreement in the Cherkasy Oblast – the purchase of machinery and equipment for collection and removal of solid household waste for the communal enterprise “Economic Board of the House of Councils of the Chyhyryn Rayon Council”.
Cooperation of hromadas in the Cherkasy Oblast has not yet become sufficiently widespread. That is why there was a need to intensify these processes.
At present, the hromadas’ cooperation in the Cherkasy Oblast is one of the priority directions of the oblast development – on 22 December 2017, the Plan for implementation of the Cherkasy Oblast development strategy for the period 2018-2020 was adopted. One of the project ideas of the Plan is "Cooperation of hromadas of the Cherkasy Oblast as an important regional development factor”.
