Decentralisation has already been introducing European standards in people’s everyday life, - Olena Tertyshna, Director of the Dnipropetrovsk LGDC.

Decentralisation is one of the most effective national reforms. It is easy to observe in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Local self-government bodies received more powers and resources, and residents now decide which projects to direct funds to. In course of eight months of 2018, budgets of AHs of the oblast received almost UAH 1.3 billion. Compared to the corresponding period in 2017, AHs’ revenues increased by 20%.

Olena Tertyshna, Director of the Dnipropetrovsk Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion of Ukraine, told Ukrinform how the region has managed to achieve such successes and what the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast’s hromadas are working on.
