Zolotyi Kolodyaz in the Dobropillya Rayon can become the first village council in the Donetsk Oblast to join the already existing AH.

Due to the unexpected stance of the CEC regarding the temporary non-appointment of the first elections in hromadas, Zolotyi Kolodyaz can stay outside the Shahivska AH and plan the new year, as before, without all the decentralisation benefits.

“Unfortunately, all processes are slow, unclear and somewhat illogical. Residents start to worry and express indignation. The process of decentralisation must go incessantly, there should not be spokes put in the wheels!” asks the village head on behalf of the entire hromada.

“We will hope that the common sense will finally win and the first elections in AHs will be scheduled this year,” emphasises Maksym Tkach, decentralisation adviser of the Donetsk Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme.
