The Dnipropetrovsk Oblast has long been known for its dairy and grain cooperatives, but in recent years a new agricultural direction – fruit and berry cultivation – has been popularised.
Cooperation allows expanding sales markets and entering trade chains.
“Agricultural cooperatives are a profitable economic model, it gives additional jobs, replenishes the hromada budget, since the revenue from entrepreneurs’ income remains on the ground. Another important advantage of cooperative work is the cooperation of the hromada residents and social responsibility of the business enities,” said Olena Tertyshna, Director of the Dnipropetrovsk Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion.
The newly created cooperative is now working on creation of their own brand and bright logo. This season, they will try to produce a trial batch of jams.
