MinRegion has improved approaches to the preparation, evaluation and selection of investment programmes and regional development projects, implemented at the expense of the State Fund for Regional Development. The relevant resolution was supported today at the Governmental meeting.
“The SFRD should support hromada development projects, and not finance repairs. Therefore, we specified the minimum estimated cost – UAH 5 million for construction and UAH 1 million for other projects. This will allow to implement large-scale regional development projects that will comprehensively address the issues of territories, in particular new construction. Indeed, a significant number of projects selected by regional commissions are too local, while projects that have a real impact on the increase of competitiveness and regional human development indices do not win in the competitive selection. We have changed this,” said Hennadii Zubko, Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services, commenting on the adoption of the resolution.
It should be mentioned that the Government has approved 755 investment programmes and regional development projects to be financed at the expense of the SFRD in 2018, for a total amount of UAH 5.8 billion.
