The Cabinet of Ministers approved the second list of investment programmes and regional development projects to be financed at the expense of the State Fund for Regional Development in 2018. There are 288 projects financed by UAH 1.8 billion from the SFRD. In general, 755 projects have already been approved for a total amount of UAH 5.8 billion, announced Hennadii Zubko, Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, commenting on the adoption of the relevant resolution.

“The SFRD funds will be directed to the construction of kindergartens, schools, healthcare facilities, development of sports infrastructure, restoration of bridge and road infrastructure, water supply and sewage facilities, thermo-modernisation, etc. in the regions. The vast majority of projects will be completed in 2018,” stressed Hennadii Zubko.

According to him, due to the SFRD funding, 115 educational facilities will be implemented in the regions (94 schools, 21 kindergartens) in the amount of UAH 566 million, 41 healthcare and social protection facilities in the amount of 194 UAH million, 39 sports facilities for a sum of UAH 196.5 million, 24 water supply and sewage facilities – for UAH 230 million, 33 road transport infrastructure facilities – for UAH 357 million, 16 cultural facilities – for a sum of UAH 94.2 million, 9 ASCs in the amount of UAH 67 million, etc.

The resolution on funding from the SFRD includes projects submitted for consideration in 19 oblasts: the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Lviv, Mykolayiv, Rivne, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi and Chernihiv Oblasts, as well as the Kyiv City State Administration.

It is worth mentioning that the total amount of the SFRD funding in 2018 is UAH 6 billion.

As informed on 23 May 2018, the Government supported 477 regional development projects for UAH 4 billion to be financed by SFRD in 2018
