In 2018 regions should complete the implementation of all projects initiated in the previous periods. The issue concerns primarily kindergartens, new hub schools, hospitals, outpatient clinics, administrative service centres, safety centres, local roads, etc. These are the projects financed by the state programmes and budget funds transferred to local self-governments, emphasised Hennadii Zubko, Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, during the meeting with the leadership of oblasts.
“By 2018, the regions received significant state financial support. Speaking in the language of figures, these are the funds of the State Fund for Regional Development – UAH 6 billion, rural healthcare subvention – UAH 5 billion, subvention for the development of AH infrastructure – UAH 1.9 billion, educational subvention for the New Ukrainian School – UAH 1 billion, “School buses” programme – UAH 900 million, construction of football fields – UAH 370 million, subvention for social and economic development – UAH 5 billion. Thus, there are funds on the ground, it is high time for your high-quality projects. At the oblast level, you need to clearly identify how the funds will be sent and which projects they will be directed at. The timely launch of facilities into operation is your personal responsibility,” said Hennadii Zubko, addressing the heads of oblasts.
The official said that over a period from 2015 to 2017, due to the state support 4,900 projects were implemented in the regions. “The priority projects to be implemented by the regions in 2018 include the development of the primary healthcare network in the rural areas, new educational space, as well as media libraries and inclusive resource centres, ASCs, citizens' safety centres, kindergartens, and infrastructure projects. And we have to accelerate their implementation. I am once again emphasising that implementation of the priority projects in the regions is, first of all, a change in the quality of life of Ukrainians,” emphasised Hennadii Zubko.
