Yuzhnoukrayinska municipality of Mykolaiv Oblast and Zvyagelska municipality of Zhytomyr Oblast signed a Memorandum on Partnership and Cooperation.
This is reported by the official website of Zvyagel City Council.
The municipalities have a common partner city, Belchatów (Republic of Poland). Officials, business representatives, and young people from both municipalities regularly meet at various all-Ukrainian and international events.
Oleksandr Akulenko, Secretary of Yuzhnoukrayinsk City Council: " Zvyagelska municipality is the first to sign a memorandum on cooperation."
Mykola Borovets, Mayor of Zvyagel, expressed the hope for fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation between the municipalities to help more effectively address the issues of municipal life in the current challenging environment.
As a reminder, according to the Monitoring of the Local Self-Government and Municipal Authorities Reform, 315 intermunicipal cooperation agreements were signed by 476 municipalities as of 1 July. Municipalities mostly cooperate in the fields of education, healthcare, and social protection.
