The cities of Irpin and Pyeongtaek will develop cooperation

Irpin and Pyeongtaek (South Korea) agreed on cooperation in the fields of economy, education, tourism, sports, culture and youth.

The letter of intent to exchange friendship was signed by Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn and Pyeongtaek Mayor Jung Jang-Seon.

"Although the signatures were put only yesterday, we already feel the support of our new sister city. I was sincerely glad to learn that for the next year the Pyeongtaek municipality has already planned to allocate money from the city budget for the restoration of the damaged infrastructure of Irpin,” commented Oleksandr Markushyn.

According to him, the residents and authorities of the city of Pyeongtaek have supported Ukraine since the first day of the full-scale war. Immediately after the start of hostilities in February, a banner in support of our state was hung on the city hall building. For the second year in a row, exhibitions with Ukrainian children’s drawings and rallies are held there. Ivano-Frankivsk Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra performed a concert in support of peace in Ukraine in Pyeongtaek.

The Mayor of Irpin invited Mayor Jung Jang-Seon to visit Irpin.
