World forum for democracy 2019

On 6-8 November 2019 up to 2000 representatives from around the world gathered at the Council of Europe Headquarters (Strasbourg, France) to discuss the question "Is democracy in danger in the information age?" during World Forum for Democracy that was annually organised by the Council of Europe’s Directorate General of Democracy.

One of the most numerous at the Forum was a delegation from Ukraine - winners of the All-Ukrainian Contest for Regional Journalists “Reforming Local Self-Government and Territorial Organisation of Government”, the main organizer of which is the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine (more details about the winners can be found here and here) and youth groups - winners of the nomination “We are – the Local Self-Government!” of the International Children's Media Festival “Dytyatko”. Both competitions are annual and supported by the Council of Europe Programme “Decentralisation and local government reform in Ukraine”, to which the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine joined in 2019.

More information is available on the Ukrainian version of the website.
