The Ukrainian educational system is again on the verge of new changes concerning the functioning of the high school, which, according to the new Law of Ukraine “On Education”, should last three years and be specialised. Together with Aider Seitosmanov and Wojtek Marhlewski, experts of the Swedish-Ukrainian project “Support to Decentralisation in Ukraine”, we tried to outline a model of a specialised high school. In fact, our manual “Specialised High School: Steps to Establishment” (DOWNLOAD) collects analytical materials where we characterise the state of specialised education in the example of the Khmelnytskyi Oblast, which, in our opinion, are representative for the whole of Ukraine. In most cases, we imitate specialised education in the current high school, and we mix the concepts of specialised and vocational education. In the manual, we outlined the steps you need to take to build a successful, specialised high school model in an amalgamated hromada, rayon, oblast.
