The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the draft law “On Vocational Education”, which will become a comprehensive reload of all levels of vocational training, and sends it for consideration to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman at the Government meeting.
The draft law, in particular, reviews the content of the professional education, transfers the management of this system to the ground, especially in the context of ordering and matching of training to the needs of the local labour market, opens opportunities for dual education as a world-recognised practice of training employees, and provides training opportunities for people with special educational needs. Such an approach should significantly improve not only the quality of training, but also its compliance with modern requirements of industry and production. As the Prime Minister noted, it is important for our youth to receive competitive education as a good start in life and for the economy to have high-quality personnel.
“This year, 150 vocational education centres will be created,” said Volodymyr Groysman. “And adoption of the law regulates many issues, including local authorities’ engagement in vocational training development in the framework of decentralisation. Therefore, we will make a big step forward in updating this sphere.”
