The decentralisation reform being introduced in Ukraine over the past 5 years under a comprehensive leadership of Government has provided local authorities with additional financial resources that can be directed to additionalyl support families that cannot fully pay their utility bills, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during an “Hour of Questions to the Government” in the Verkhovna Rada.
The Head of Government reminded that the Government’s decisions introduced the marginal cost of gas for the population and subsidy monetisation mechanism. “And as a result of decentralisation, local budgets can also support families and minimise debt burdens. I appeal to local authorities, to parliamentarians: I ask – take a close look at local problems, find out where there are problems that can be solved locally. We need to take care of people,” said the Prime Minister.
