The reform of the New Ukrainian School, which starts from the first of September, should begin in the modern New Educational Space. This is not only the modernisation of schools on the “new walls, roof and windows” principle. This is a completely different approach to safety levels, energy efficiency, internal motivating design, inclusiveness and barrier-free approach, as well as modern equipment. MinRegion is working on implementing the very New Educational Space, and the Ministry of Education and Science – on the introduction of the New Ukrainian School, informed Hennadii Zubko, Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, on the air of 112 TV channel.
“Both the pupil and his/her parents should be confident in the level of safety of the educational space and quality of education in the school they choose. We have changed state building standards in terms of inclusiveness, accessibility and, most importantly, safety. It is also a new approach to design and infrastructure around schools. It is about sports grounds, educational workshops, road infrastructure,” noted Hennadii Zubko.
The Vice Prime Minister said that schools, modernised according to the modern New Educational Space standards, have a significant influence on pupils’ motivation to study and on the level of their knowledge. “The first school that joined such an experiment is located in Putrivka, Kyiv Oblast. And today it is one of the best examples of successful passing of External Independent Testing among the schools of the oblast. This example and such results inspire us. We do our best to ensure that a pupil in the village acquires education, that is not worse than in Kyiv or in any hub school in Ukraine,” said Hennadii Zubko.
