“The new law on service in local self-government bodies will become a driving force for decentralisation and will contribute to ensuring the capacity of local self-government, as it will attract highly qualified specialists, providing them with appropriate payment conditions,” said Oleksandr Slobozhan, Executive Director of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, during the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Public Administration in Ukraine: Status, Challenges and Development Prospects”.
It is worth reminding that a draft law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Service in Local Self-Government Bodies" (No 8369) was registered on 17 May 2018 by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Among the developers of the bill is the Association of Ukrainian Cities.
Oleksandr Slobozhan called on the participants of the conference to include into the final document of the conference a clause about the need to pass the draft law on amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Service in Local Self-Government Bodies” as soon as possible.
