The first media school (with a unique press-tour) on " Coverage of News from Rural Areas in Terms of Implementation of Decentralisation and Healthcare Reforms" will be held on 21-25 June.
The route will be as follows: Cherkasy city – village of Bilozirya – urban-type settlement of Irdyn – village of Hatsky – village of Stepanky – village of Dumantsi – village of Chubivka – village of Zhabotyn – town of Smila – Cherkasy city
Young journalists, including civic journalists, bloggers interested in unbiased coverage of events of Ukraine’s rural life in the media, are invited to participate in the media school.
As part of the summer school, a press tour will be held to four different rural hromadas: an AH with a three-year history, one year-old AH, rural hromada that plans to establish AH, and a hromada having no plans to form AH in the Cherkasy Oblast.
Besides, the participants will get acquainted with the following facilities:
· village cultural centre;
· village kindergarten;
· village school.
To participate in the training the applicant must be:
· journalist (preferably with up to 3 years of journalistic work experience), or
· civic journalist, or
· blogger
Terms of participation in the training:
· training is free of charge;
· organisers provide participants with educational materials, meals and accommodation during training;
· travel expenses of participants from other cities will be remunerated, if they provide the tickets (bus or train).
To apply for a media school a short application (attached) must be submitted.
