Presentation of student projects for the development of amalgamated hromadas was held in Rivne. 14 teams of students, receiving their economic education at the National University of Ostroh Academy, National University of Water Management and Nature Resources, International Economic-Humanitarian University and Rivne State Humanitarian University, introduced their developments.
The competition was announced in early March at the initiative of the Rivne Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion. The defense of projects, shortlisted for the final stage, took place at the LGDC’s premises on 25 April.
"The creative competition demonstrated the desire of young boys and girls to introduce the types of service and entrepreneurial activities not yet represented in AHs. Each project is interesting in its own way. I think that leaders of AHs will pay attention to them and will find opportunities to implement them in practice," said Ruslan Syvyi, head of the jury and director of the Rivne LGDC.
After a long discussion, the first prize was awarded to Maryna Drapatiy, Vadym Levchyshyn and Anastasiya Kravchuk, students of the Rivne State Humanitarian University, for their project "Berry Cooperative in the Myliatska AH". The second prize went to Lyudmyla Pasichko, Anastasiya Turovska, Serhiy Nahornyuk and Oleksandra Zabeyda, students of the National University of Water Management and Nature Resources, for their project "Solid household waste management in Buhrynska AH". And the third prize was awarded to Yelyzaveta Kondratyuk, student of the Ostroh Academy, for her work "Establishment of a hotel and tourist complex in the Radyvylivska AH".
In addition to diplomas, the winners received recognition gifts.
