Study tour “Best practices: experience of amalgamated hromadas” took place in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

The study tour "Best practices: experience of amalgamated hromadas" was held in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast on 20-21 March 2018. Participants of the tour – village heads, representatives of the rayon council and administration of the Vilshanka Rayon of the Kirovohrad Oblast and journalists from the central region – visited the Pokrovska and Tsarychanska amalgamated hromadas of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The event was organised by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Programme "Decentralization Offering Better Results and Efficiency" (DOBRE).

According to Andriy Nahornyi, regional manager of the USAID DOBRE programme Dnipro, the DOBRE programme helps non-amalgamated territories get information and see the work of successful AHs. "Due to such tours, DOBRE creates decentralisation agents in the Vilshanka Rayon of the Kirovohrad Oblast. We want to give the local authorities maximum information and help hromadas make the right decision, amalgamate and continue the path of their territory development," said Andriy Nahornyi.
