“Million-Hryvnia Hromada” Project on 1+1 TV channel to feature ways of attracting valuable staff to amalgamated hromadas

The new issue of the project will feature the Novopskovska, Buzka and Pechenizhynska amalgamated hromadas competing for a ticket to the finals.

On Sunday, 4 March, at 9.50 am the 1+1 TV channel viewers will see the semifinal of the social, business and entertainment project “Million-Hryvnia Hromada”, created jointly with the United States Agency for International Development “Decentralisation Offering Better Results and Efficiency” (DOBRE) Programme.

Three amalgamated hromadas – the Novopskovska, Buzka and Pechenizhynska AHs – will compete for the chance to get to the finals and win UAH 1 million of investments from the WHISEF fund. They will receive the final business task from the investor and project presenter Iryna Ozymok, in which they will need to identify a specialist they are lacking in their hromada and encourage him/her to continue working in the AH.

“We know that there is a problem of personnel outflow in Ukrainian villages. Qualified professionals move to cities with better job opportunities and higher salaries. I believe that this is one of the most difficult tasks for hromadas. They need not only to encourage a specialist to stay in the hromada, but also convince us that this AH is worth investing UAH 1 million in it,” says Iryna Ozymok, programme presenter.

A specialist chosen by each hromada-participant will spend one day with the hromada representatives and then decide whether to stay or not. The AH that will not be able to attract valuable staff, will leave the project and race for the investment tranche.

Therefore, the Buzka hromada will choose a dentist, whose services are needed by the residents of the region. The Pechenizhynska AH will seek to attract an expert in foreign languages to help in business development. The Novopskovska AH will choose a specialist in the creation of apartment building co-owners association to improve landscaping and facilities of the region.

The new issue of the “Million-Hryvnia Hromada” project will show which hromadas will be able to attract valuable staff and get to the final competition of the project on Sunday at 9.50 am on 1 + 1 TV channel.
