Healthcare in AHs: when quality of service matters

The hospital in each village is not a guarantee of the residents’ health.

A person in a hospital should recover, not just be treated. After all, the treatment process is continuous, and recovery is a relief from disease.

That is why it is important to have a good hospital – perhaps located farther from the place of residence – and not to harbour illusions of its proximity.

Important functions of the primary healthcare link include early diagnosis of disease, promotion of a healthy lifestyle and habit to take care of one’s own health.

This is the philosophy of amalgamated hromadas, significantly empowered today to develop primary healthcare on their territory.

Details are featured in the video created by the NGO “Institute of Civil Society” with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation within the framework of the project “Expert and informational support of the process of reforming local self-government and territorial organisation of power in Ukraine”.
