The most important impetus for astronomy development is a strong desire of a human thought to penetrate into the essence of things, realise the true position of the Earth and human being in the Universe, know the laws determining the luminaries’ movement, their birth, structure and development.

Telescopes with a variety of auxiliary and light-recording devices assist people in this task.

The pupils of the Baykovetska AH will study the mysteries of the starry sky and distant planets not from textbooks and boring charts, but in a real observatory.

The observatory was established with the support of the USAID Decentralisation Offering Better Results and Effiiciency (DOBRE) Programme.
