There has been a fivefold increase of sport funding in Finland and threefold reduction of healthcare financing, as prevention is considered to be more effective than struggle with the outcomes. These facts were shared by Oleksandr Svystun, director of the Zaporizhzhya Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion, during the workshop “Development of Sport Infrastructure in AH” on 21 December. Participants of the event – representatives of the Zaporizhzhya, Kherson and Donetsk Oblasts – discussed sport development issues topical for the amalgamated hromadas, exchanged experience, and presented their plans.
