Petro Sehediy, head of Sofiyivska amalgamated hromada: “Our goal is to establish attractive hromada with safe and comfortable living conditions”

The Sofiyivska AH demonstrates a decisive approach to the Development Strategy compilation, having previously held round table discussions with the participation of deputies, public organisations, youth and former heads of the rural settlement council. It was initially planned to be written by hromada on its own, but with due account of all the pros and cons, we realised that involvement of qualified specialists would be necessary. Following the advice of Olena Tertyshna, director of the Dnipropetrovsk Local Government Development Centre, established with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme, the choice was made and the team of experts from the Department of Business Administration and Project Management of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Institute of Public Administration of Academy of Public Administration, was invited to develop and write our strategy.

Since the hromada establishment, we have become aware of our responsibility primarily for the strategy implementation. Each responsible manager began to act in order to make his intentions come true.

As a result, our strategy was highly appreciated at the regional Forum “3D: Decentralisation - Dnipropetrovsk – Deeds”.
