Applications for calling the first elections of local chairpersons and members of councils in 120 amalgamated territorial communities are pending for consideration by the Central Elections Commission, which communities are composed of 576 former local councils.
That fact is proved by the monitoring data on the progress of establishment of amalgamated communities Ukraine, which monitoring is carried out by the Ministry of Regional Development.
The largest number of amalgamated territorial communities that are already waiting for the decision to be made by the Central Elections Commission is 16 in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (region), 12 in Chernihiv, 11 in Cherkasy, 10 in Poltava, 8 in Zhytomyr, 7 in each of Kherson and Volynska, and 6 in Kirovohrad Oblast.
Altogether, as of 30 June, 211 amalgamated communities are at the final stages of their formation:
It is a reminder that, on 6 June this year, the Parliament adopted a law on allocation of funds for elections in the amalgamated communities in 2017.
Also, it was reported that the Government reallocated some state budget expenditures and appropriated almost UAH 13 million to the Central Elections Commission for arranging for and holding elections in the amalgamated communities.
As is known, 413 amalgamated territorial communities have been established in Ukraine altogether over the period of 2015 through 2017, which communities are composed of 1971 former local councils
