Communities in Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv regions received 38 vehicles for emergency recovery within joint project with JICA

Within the framework of the Emergency Community Recovery and Reconstruction Project, efforts continue to strengthen technical capabilities to eliminate the aftermath of shelling.

A shipment of 23 vehicles has arrived in Zaporizhzhia, intended for clearing debris and restoring critical infrastructure. Excavators of various types, for comprehensive earthworks and to address the consequences of enemy attacks, have been distributed among the municipal enterprises ‘Zaporizhmiskvitlo’, ‘Tytan’, ‘Zelenbud’, ‘Vodokanal’, and ‘Eluash’.

Similar vehicles have also been delivered to Chernihiv. The shipment consists of 15 units, including one front-loader, three excavators, nine backhoe loaders, and two bulldozers.

The new vehicles have been distributed among the following municipal enterprises: ‘Chernihivvodokanal’, ‘ATP-2528’, ‘Teplokomunenerho’, ‘Desnianske’, ‘Novozavodske’, ‘ZHEK-10’, ‘ZHEK-13’, and the ‘Specialised Municipal and Household Services Company’.

It will increase the efficiency of work on urban improvement, housing maintenance, and the city’s municipal infrastructure.

‘The speed of response to the challenges of war directly depends on the technical resources available to communities. These 38 vehicles will speed up the restoration of electrical power to homes, clear logistics routes, and ensure the city’s vital functions continue under extremely difficult conditions. We work systematically to ensure that every affected area has the tools for rapid recovery right now,’ said Maryna Denysiuk, Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

For reference. The Emergency Restoration and Reconstruction Project has been in effect since February 2023 as a tool for rapid response to the aftermath of the war. Its priority is the reconstruction of critical sectors – energy, transportation, and water supply – as well as the development of technical solutions for sustainable urban development and effective waste management.
