The Rivne region is expanding its international partnerships. The region has signed a cooperation agreement with Dolj County in Romania. This opens up new opportunities for communities on both sides of the border.

During an online meeting between the Rivne Regional Council and regional military administration leadership and the Dolj County leadership, the parties confirmed their readiness to progress from acquaintance to collaboration. The agreement covers the following key areas important for regional development:

• culture, education and tourism;
• environmental protection and renewable energy development;
• attracting European funds;
• exchange of local self-government and decentralisation practices;
• implementation of joint programmes and initiatives between communities.

This marks the beginning of a partnership that has the potential to revitalise economic ties, provide the region with new development tools, and foster stronger cooperation between local authorities and businesses.
