On October 18, 2024, Zakarpattia hosted the interregional forum dubbed "Digitalization of the New Economy — 2024." Organized by the USAID HOVERLA Activity in cooperation with the Zakarpattia Oblast Military Administration and Zakarpattia IT Cluster, the forum gathered over 200 participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Digital Transformation (MDT), regional military administrations, local authorities, and IT companies.
The event focused on digital tools supporting community and regional development and addressed the challenges and prospects of building a digital economy in Ukraine.
During the forum, participants found out about the Zakarpattia Analytical Portal, developed by HOVERLA. This interactive tool organizes vast regional data and documents, enabling informed decision-making and offering comprehensive information to businesses and the public. Powered by an advanced software and satellite data, the portal is a valuable resource for regional management. Besides Zakarpattia, HOVERLA has developed analytical portals for the Lviv, Poltava, Rivne, Volyn and Odesa regions, as well as Kyiv.
“Ukraine is confidently embracing digitalization, impacting nearly all processes within the country. Zakarpattia Oblast is no exception, transforming across all areas of life thanks to the modern solutions implemented by our IT specialists,” noted Oleksandr Patskan, Deputy Head of the Zakarpattia OMA, who is responsible for the Digital Development and Transformation Office (CDTO).
“For Ukraine to become the most convenient digital state in the world, we need more CDTOs at the regional and local levels. Hiring specialists with tech expertise as deputies responsible for digital development, transformation, and digitalization is a priority for the MDT. CDTOs drive digital changes. Together with colleagues, we continue working to ensure that these changes are felt locally, providing quality public services and digital skills education programs,” said Valeria Ionan, MDT Deputy Minister for European Integration.
HOVERLA supports the MDT and the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine in fostering effective economic growth, transparency, and accountability, particularly through digital tools.
