International and Ukrainian businesses together to prepare for the de-occupation of Crimea. On the sidelines of the Third International Summit of the Crimean Platform, 15 progressive companies declared their commitment to do business on the Ukrainian peninsula: Nokia, FozzyGroup, Vodafone, Kyivstar, Monobank, SQUAD, Ribas Group, Edem, OKKO, Lifecell, Dobrobut, CMS, Luxoft. The largest IT companies in Ukraine, including Softserve, Sigma Software and Genesis, also supported our idea to create a new Ukrainian Silicon Valley in Crimea.
This was stated by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration, Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development.
According to him, the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) are going to help attract tourists to the peninsula. These world's most important tourism organisations represent 157 countries and more than 200 companies with a turnover of more than $600 billion.
"Any global and Ukrainian company is welcome to join the economic recovery of Crimea right now. The Memorandum of Cooperation and Partnership is based on the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and open to all those who value freedom and support a free market and fair competition. This is an economic step towards a new future of a free peninsula joining the global economy as part of Ukraine," said Oleksandr Kubrakov.
"Our goal is to make Crimea economically attractive all year round, not just during the season. We are going to create the largest Eastern European centre for modern technological developments in Crimea, launch a new tourism policy, make the peninsula completely energy independent, and these are just some of our plans," the Deputy Prime Minister stated.
He also said that in order to ensure more effective cooperation, We Build Crimea Portal was created within the framework of the Crimean Platform jointly with the Mission of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea: https://webuild.crimea-platform.org. It unites representatives of the national and global businesses around a single goal — the economic recovery of Ukrainian Crimea and its potential.
According to Oleksandr Kubrakov, the commitment of business representatives to invest in the development and reconstruction of Ukrainian Crimea is a signal for the world that the de-occupation of the peninsula to occur shortly.
