11 signed documents on cooperation are among the results of the International Summit of Cities and Regions held in Ukraine at the platform of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine.
Having brought together more than 250 representatives of municipalities from more than 50 countries, this Congress event allowed Ukrainian municipalities and regions to find new partners.
For instance, the Kherson City Council, the Association of Ukrainian Cities, an all-Ukrainian association of local self-government bodies, and the International Cooperation Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG International BV) signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed by the Kherson Regional Military Administration and the International Cooperation Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG International BV).
The Bucha City Council signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Waste Recycling Association of Ukraine and the Lithuanian Demolition Association.
The Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration signed a Statement of Intent with the West Pomeranian Voivodeship (Poland).
Moreover, during the International Summit of Cities and Regions, the Odesa Regional Council and the Administration of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship (Poland) signed a Cooperation Plan. The Odesa Regional Military Administration signed two documents, a Cooperation Agreement with the local authorities of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region (France) and a Declaration of Intentions with the government of the Pomeranian Voivodeship (Poland).
A Letter of Intent regarding partnership and cooperation was signed by the Sumy Regional Military Administration and Together Ministry, an NGO from Georgia, US.
The Zakarpattia Regional Council and the Pardubice Region (Czech Republic) signed an Agreement on Cooperation.
The Ukrainian city of Konotop and the French city of Fumel signed an Agreement on Partnership Cooperation.
Furthermore, the state of Ukraine and the European Union signed the Agreement on the Participation of Ukraine in the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
Earlier, during the International Summit of Cities and Regions, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the representatives of the international community and invited them to build direct relations with the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities and, therefore, facilitated by the Congress, with Ukrainian municipalities in order to start joint efforts as soon as possible and jointly build a new system of protecting people’s lives.
