Irpin and Tlajomulco de Zúñiga are sister cities

The Mexican city of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga and the Ukrainian city of Irpin entered into a twinning agreement.


This was announced by Oleksandr Markushyn, Mayor of Irpin.

The signing took place online at the meeting of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga City Council.

“We agreed on the assistance of the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga in the reconstruction of Irpin. In the near future, we will submit for consideration reconstruction projects that our new Mexican friends could take under their wing,” said Oleksandr Markushyn.

He expressed his gratitude to Oksana Dramaretska, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Mexican States, for her personal contribution to establishing cooperation between municipalities.

Prior to the twinning agreement, Oksana Dramaretska, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Mexico, and Omar Cervantes Rivera, Secretary General of the Executive Council of the City Hall of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, signed the Memorandum on the international partnership between Irpin and Tlajomulco de Zúñiga.

Earlier, Decentralization reported that the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine was preparing for the International Summit of Regions and Cities. The event aims to boost the process of establishing a solidarity partnership between Ukrainian and foreign municipalities.
