Slovenian municipalities have delivered humanitarian aid to Ukrainian municipalities The dialogue between municipalities of both countries was arranged due to the assistance of the U-LEAD with Europe programme.

According to the post by U-LEAD in Facebook, “Bridges of trust between Ukrainian and Slovenian municipalities save lives and embrace hope. On March, 13, the first lorry carrying emergency aid crossed the Ukrainian border in the Transcarpathian region”.

The aid was collected by over 10 Slovenian municipalities, participating in the Slovenian-Ukrainian partnership programme, organized by U-LEAD in 2020-2021.

Particularly, food, hygienic means and rescuing equipment was delivered from Slovenia to the towns, having been severely damaged as a result of the Russian invasion, including Bucha (Kyiv oblast) which is a partner of the Slovenian town of Kochevie and Trostyanets (Sumy oblast) which is a partner of the Slovenian town of Zrece.
