Bakhmut, Vinnytsya and Lviv have got the UNICEF status of Children and Youth Friendly Municipality

Bakhmut, Vinnytsya and Lviv are the first towns in Ukraine to have received the Children and Youth Friendly Municipality honourable international status. The status is awarded within the same-name initiative by UNICEF, aimed at supporting the local authorities in children rights realization. The town representatives were awarded by ministers on the occasion of the Local Self-Government Day.

The status is not the eventual objective. It means municipality progress and permanent movement for the sake of becoming children and youth friendly. Municipalities have to confirm their status once in two-three years.

You can watch the awarding ceremony during the Children 2021 Summit.
