Municipality property: why and how the MinRegion plans to amend legal regulations, governing communal property issues

The communal property issue requires additional legislative regulation. It was highlighted by Deputy Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Vyacheslav Nehoda during a public discussion on improving the legal regulations, governing communal property issues.

«The incumbent legislation fails to clearly regulate how municipality common property emerges, how it is divided, how the property is alienated, what powers local self-government bodies of different levels exercise: municipality, rayon, oblast councils. When it is unclear where whose property is, who is entitled to it, disputes are inevitable. That is why we suggest amending the legislation», - claimed Vyacheslav Nehoda.
