The Council of Europe has presented its conclusion on the bill on local state administrations in Ukraine

On December, 1 Daniel Popescu, Head of the Committee on Democracy and Governance of the Council of Europe, presented the Council of Europe’s conclusion concerning bill №4298 on local state administrations of 30.10.2020 to people’s deputies of Ukraine. The presentation took place during the meeting of the administrative and territorial arrangement subcommittee and the state power, state service, local self-government service organisation, state symbols and awards subcommittee of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the state power and local self-government organisation, regional and urban development.

Particularly, the conclusion focuses on bill №4298 compliance with the European Charter of Local Self-Government, especially in the sphere of administrative control over local self-government bodies, as well as the recommendations of the Committee of Ministers. It also considers the practice of other Council of Europe member-states.
