According to the Association site, the Association of Ukrainian Cities has addressed the Central Election Commission about the possibility of appointing the first local elections of district council deputies in the rayons, formed by the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine On Rayons Formation and Liquidation.

According to the AUC, provisions of paragraph two of part seven of article 194 of the current Election Code of Ukraine fail to allow the Central Election Commission to legally appoint the first local elections of the district council deputies of the newly formed rayons.
