Today in Chernivtsi local self-government representatives of the Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk regions have worked over propositions of amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine which must enshrine the reformed system of the local self-government and power territorial arrangement, power decentralisation.

‘Today we have to build the Ukrainian state of hromadas, based on the local self-government – empowered, having resources and being responsible for the decisions made (…) We also have to change the executive power system, being inefficient due to performing about 80% of not inherent functions of the local self-government. Such an administrative model does not exist anywhere else but it is enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine. Thus, it is necessary to amend the Fundamental Law in this respect’, - claimed Vyacheslav Nehoda, Deputy Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.
