The Government of Ukraine approved the draft Law of Ukraine "On the National Target Programme for the Transfer of Dormitories to the Ownership of Territorial Hromadas for 2020 - 2021", which was developed by the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

In particular, the programme provides funding for activities on:
• renewal of documentation for dormitories (their housing estates and / or parts thereof);
• identification, improvement of the adjoining territories and capital repairs of dormitories;
• providing compensation to business entities (owners of dormitories) for the transfer of these objects to territorial communities.

Residents of dormitories that are currently in state ownership or included in the authorised capital of enterprises will be able to exercise their constitutional right to housing through privatisation of residential premises.

The draft law was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for consideration.
