“Hromada For Everyone” Conference

U-LEAD with Europe will hold the “Hromada for Everyone” conference at the National Sports Complex “Olimpiyskyi” in Kyiv on 30 September 2019.

Aliona Babak, Minister of Development of Communities and Territories, Zoryana Skaletska, Minister of Health, and Yuliya Sokolovska,Minister of Social Policy, have confirmed their participation.

Dr Annika Weidemann, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, and Lyubomyra Mandziy, Deputy Minister of Education and Science, will also take part in the event and join the discussion on the current stage of the decentralisation reform.

The aim of the conference which will be attended by more than 150 representatives of amalgamated hromadas (AHs) from all over Ukraine, is to discuss how AHs can improve their service delivery and leverage their development potential for the benefit of citizens. Hence, the conference shall serve as a platform for multi-level thematic discussions that focus on new social services, local economic development and community building as well as the achievements and challenges of the healthcare and education reforms.

The findings and recommendations of local development initiatives implemented with the support of U-LEAD with Europe in almost 400 AHs all over Ukraine will be presented and discussed at the conference.

The “Hromada for Everyone” conference will take place at the NSC “Olimpiyskyi” on 30 September from 08:30 until 19:00. There will be live broadcasts of parallel sessions on decentralization.ua

The conference is organised by the U-LEAD with Europe Programme together with the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs (SUP), the Partnership for Every Child, the Civil Society Institute, the European Centre for Minority Issues (Germany), the Association of Voluntary Fire Brigades of the Republic of Poland and the Kyiv School of Economics.

The “Hromada for Everyone” conference is organised by Ukraine – Local Empowerment, Accountability and Development Programme (U-LEAD with Europe), a multi-donor action of the European Union and its member states Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Poland and Sweden. The Programme co-operates with the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine in establishing a multi-level governance system that is transparent, accountable and responsive to the needs citizens of Ukraine.
