On 14 September, at 11:15 the 1+1 TV channel will broadcast the premiere of the second season of social reality programme “Million-Hryvnia Hromada. Specialists”. The programme will be released in an updated format: the season will be international, and participants will be individual Ukrainians or citizens of other countries, who with their creative ideas change the life of their home village or town.
According to the terms of the project, the participants of the “Million-Hryvnia Hromada. Specialists” go to another community for a week to occupy the same position and share experience. In total, 16 specialists from 6 European countries – Ukraine, Finland, Germany, Italy, Estonia and France – took part in the new season. Each of them is responsible for the development of a specific area within their community – education, tourism, hospitality, culture and healthcare. Youth workers, mayors and community leaders will also share their expertise.
According to Alla Stashchenko, creative producer of the “Million-Hryvnia Hromada. Specialists”, social reality will show interesting experience of community representatives from different corners of Ukraine and the world, will give them the opportunity to find new creative approaches. The experience gained will result in qualitative changes that will preserve the most valuable resource of the country – young and promising specialists.
“Our characters are people who, through their daily work, develop villages and small towns in Ukraine and the world, but sometimes lack new experience and an understanding of creative approaches to implement powerful change. They will go to developed European and Ukrainian communities to get this experience. And they will come back not only with useful expertise, but also with an unexpected discovery – in some spheres Ukraine is far ahead of the European municipalities,” Alla Stashchenko said.
Production of the project commissioned by 1+1 was provided by the 1+1 Production team together with USAID Decentralisation Offering Better Results and Efficiency (DOBRE) Programme, and initiated by the DOBRE partner – Ukrainian Crisis Media Centre.
