“Holy” decentralisation: changes brought to Voloske by decentralisation

“Dictator in a robe” – that is how the priest, elected as starosta, is called in the village of Voloske. All because of his perseverance. On Sundays and holidays, reverend Andrii (Pinchuk) officiates divine services, and on weekdays solves the problems of the village. As a result of his work, Voloske, which three years ago was one of the most depressing in the oblast, is now called the “European corner”. New lighting, water supply system, roads, waste collection and 100 million investment. At a local school, parents forgot about informal fees, the village council buys even workbooks for children. So why not everyone is happy with the new starosta, how does the “holy” decentralisation look like?
