In Slovechanska rural AH there was a meeting of librarians and hromadas’ club directors with experts from the Zhytomyr Local Government Development Centre established by the U-LEAD with Europe Programme and MinRegion, representatives of the Culture and Tourism Department of the Zhytomyr Oblast State Administration and the Zhytomyr Oblast Universal Scientific Library named after O. Olzhych.

“Hromadas count each copeck, and nobody will keep the entire network unchanged with the same quality of work. Therefore, we all need to introduce changes: from the issuance of books to active interaction with a reader, using creative forms of work”, noted Halyna Kozakova, specialist of the library named after O. Olzhych.

The hromada has 6 libraries and the same quantity of village clubs. All institutions need to be repaired and to have both book funds and material and technical base updated. The hromada leadership initiates the reform of the library network and the creation of a centralised system.
