On 5 November, a series of trainings on public consultations within the frames of decentralisation was launched in the Dnipropetrovsk Local Government Development Centre. The objectives of the event are to improve the dialogue between the public and authorities, and increase the quality of preparation, search and optimal decision-making on important local issues.
Public consultations are an open process of dialogue between the authorities and residents, the purpose of which is to make the Government adopt the optimal decisions regarding socially important matters. According to Olena Tertyshna, director of the Dnipropetrovsk LGDC, these events are being held for the first time with the support of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme together with the civic network “OPORA”.
