ANNOUNCEMENT! Conclusions of All-Ukrainian tour “ZminyTY” to be presented on 21 December in Kyiv: what Ukrainians expect from healthcare and educational reforms

The results of public consultations with the most active communities in 23 oblasts on the implementation of changes in the healthcare system and education will be presented by the NGO Centre UA on 21 December 2017, at 11:00 at Ukraine Crisis Media Centre (2 Khreshchatyk Street). The “ZminyTY” tour is implemented jointly with the representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, as well as the experts of the Reanimation Package of Reforms coalition and CEDOS analytical centre.

Within 4 months, representatives of local authorities, amalgamated hromadas, professional healthcare and educational communities, public activists and journalists discussed the concepts of sectoral reforms and made proposals for changes and remarks to the formation of a new state policy by the line ministries.

We are ready to publicly present achievements and outline the risks of implementing healthcare and educational reforms:

• Operation of the full cycle of public policy development in the healthcare and educational sectors;

• Opinions of hromadas taken into account by the Ministry of Health when developing healthcare regulatory documents;

• Opinions of hromadas the Ministry of Education and Science has taken into account when developing educational regulatory documents;

• Key requirements and wishes of healthcare professionals and educators on the implementation of reforms.

The event will be attended by:

  • Uliana Suprun, acting Minister of Health of Ukraine;
  • Lilia Hrynevych, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine (to be confirmed);
  • Inna Borzylo, Executive Director of the NGO Centre UA;
  • Oleksandr Yabchanka, healthcare reform expert of the Reanimation Package of Reforms;
  • Iryna Kohut, educational reform expert of the analytical centre CEDOS;
  • Astrid Kohl, Head of Communications, Dialogue and Networking Unit of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme.

In September 2017, the NGO Centre UA went on the All-Ukrainian tour “ZminyTY” for the second time: Interaction for Change to collect and take into account the opinions of the most active communities in the country for the successful development and implementation of reforms.

The tour was conducted with the financial support of U-LEAD with Europe: Ukraine – Local Empowerment, Accountability and Development Programme for Ukraine, as well as Sida -  Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency. Details – by the link.
