On 13 December, in the framework of a working visit to the Vinnytsya Rayon, Andriy Hyzhko, first deputy head of the Oblast State Administration, together with Mykhaylo Demchenko, head of the Vinnytsya Rayon State Administration, inspected the complex of treatment facilities in the rural settlement of Voronovytsya, restored at the expense of the oblast environmental protection fund with co-financing of the Voronovytska AH.

“In the village of Voronovytsya, sewage networks have been in a terrible state until recently,” said Andriy Hyzhko. “Old pumping equipment could not cope with the load, and in fact, there was no purification as such at all and the environment was polluted by waste water. Now the new modern compressors have been purchased and a system of oxygen supply of special microorganisms to process and clean up waste has been restored. This is a biologically pure method used worldwide to replace chlorination. The water purified in an anaerobic biological way comes to the local water reservoir.”

According to Andriy Hyzhko, UAH 600 thousand were allocated to the implementation of this environmental project from the oblast environmental protection fund. In total, the cost of the project is UAH 825 thousand, therefore, the remaining funds are allocated from the local budget on the terms of co-financing.

“After the decentralisation reform was started by the Government, environmental funds are available in the oblast budget and many local budgets. Therefore, in the next 2018, environmental funds will be used to plant forests, set up and clean parks, modernise sewage networks in the oblast with mandatory co-financing from local budgets, and the Voronovytska AH is a vivid example of such cooperation,” summed up the official.
