The agreement was reached during an online meeting with Krzysztof Sikora, Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Bydgoszcz, Zbigniew Łuczak, Vice Mayor of Bydgoszcz, Leszek Czerkawski, Secretary of Bydgoszcz County, Andrzej Kubiak, Director of the Department of Marketing, Culture and Sports of Bydgoszcz, Piotr Kozłowski, Councilor of Bydgoszcz and Marek Hamot, Rector of the WSG University.

This was announced by Oleksandr Markushyn, Mayor of Irpin.

According to him, the parties agreed on cooperation in education, support of youth policy and provision of utility equipment to Irpin as assistance.

“We are looking forward to the visit of the Polish delegation to the hero city of Irpin and hope for fruitful cooperation! I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the guests for their attention to the Irpin municipality and the initiative for partnership,” said Oleksandr Markushyn.

Bydgoszcz is one of the largest cities in Poland, the 8th most populated and the 10th largest geographically. The city is surrounded by large forest areas, and similarly to Irpin, there are many green areas, parks (including one of the largest in Poland). Bydgoszcz already has two Ukrainian sister cities, Kremenchuk and Cherkasy.
