Kharkiv and Albuquerque will become sister cities

Ihor Terekhov, Mayor of Kharkiv, and Timothy Keller, Mayor of Albuquerque, held a joint meeting to discuss opportunities for cooperation and agreed to sign a partnership agreement between the cities.

This is reported by the official website of the Kharkiv City Council.

Ihor Terekhov thanked the American people for their strong support of Ukraine and emphasised that the partnership between the two cities would be aimed at supporting each other at all levels.

“When we talk about sisterly relations, we mean political support, exchange of best experience and practices in various areas. I am positive that today’s agreement is the beginning of a strong friendship in the future,” said the mayor of Kharkiv.

According to Timothy Keller, partnership relations between Albuquerque and Kharkiv will be a blueprint for proper cooperation between other American and Ukrainian cities.

“Our cities will be an example of effective cooperation and communication,” said the mayor of Albuquerque.

Kharkiv currently has 28 sister cities, including Cincinnati, US (since 1989).
