The festival in the Plyskivska amalgamated hromada combined folk art and creativity, literature and culture, sports, entertainment and cuisine.

The Plyskivska AH, organiser of the Plysky-TOURFEST festival, won the competition of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine “Small Cities – Big Impressions”. According to Maryna Virko, Plysky village head, this festival is a follow-up of a music festival “Source of Hopes” initiated by the hromada last year.

“Such events help reveal talents, encourage social adaptation and integration into society. Therefore, we are very grateful to the state and to God for that we have the opportunity to revive spirituality and culture, since it is very hard to live in such small hromadas like ours and we want our younger generation to understand what to aspire to and where to go,” said Maryna Virko.

Valentyna Vernyhor, head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Plysky village council, told that the festival budget amounted to UAH 250 thousand. Of these, UAH 175 thousand were allocated by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, 50 thousand were provided by the hromada and 25 thousand – by a financial partner.

"The hromada has done what it could not do before. Only after amalgamation was it able to participate in this kind of a competition and organise a wonderful festival,” said Volodymyr Boiko, regional development adviser of the Chernihiv Local Government Development Centre .
