As of 12 August this year, family doctors of the Vapnyarka settlement primary healthcare centre have signed 123% of declarations with patients, which is one of the highest indicators in the Vinnytsia Oblast. The Centre services 7,500 patients from the AH and nearly 2000 more from the neighbouring settlements that are not part of theamalgamated hromada, as reported by Vitalii Shvets, municipal service adviser of the Vinnytsia Local Government Development Centre of the U-LEAD with Europe Programme.

The enterprise consists of one outpatient clinic and two rural health posts, employing five family doctors who have two nurses in their team each. The AH also had to optimise staffing and carried it out immediately after the Centre’s creation. Today the rural health post has one paramedic, who performs all the necessary work.

According to the expert of the Vinnytsia LGDC, the earned money is enough for the economic activity of the enterprise, and only local energy costs are covered by the local budget. Vitalii Shvets drew attention to the fact that the company receives funds not only from the National Health Service of Ukraine, but also from other counterparties: vacant premises are leased out to entrepreneurs (private dentists and a pharmacy).

The maximum number of patients attests to the quality of services provided at the Vapnyarka primary healthcare centre.

“We have a reserve to increase the number of patients who can be served at our Centre, since some people have not yet chosen a doctor. Therefore, we plan to involve a young physician who will be able to fulfil his potential and sign declarations patients. Today the vacancy is open, so I urge young people to come to Vapnyarka and start working,” says chief doctor Vasyl Viyazlovskyi.

The average salary of a doctor is UAH 18 thousand and consists of a salary and allowance according to the number of patients registered with the doctor. The outpatient clinic has all the necessary equipment and decent working conditions.
